What you will do
An excellent opportunity to work as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer at our manufacturing site in Stockport has become available! We are looking for someone to help roll out total productive maintenance across the site and assist the Engineering Manager in his daily duties. You will have the ability to assist in driving a world class manufacturing site with all plant maintenance.
How you will do it
Compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy requirements within area of responsibility.
Assist in the daily operations of a busy machining and manufacturing site.
Respond to maintenance, breakdowns and project work.
Ability to build asset care plans and TPM schedules based on equipment knowledge.
Working closely with the Maintenance Engineering Manager, Production Manager, Quality Manager, Process Engineers and Production Operators.
Presenting at all levels, electronically and verbally.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and effective fault finding on critical production equipment.
Plan and carry out repair, improvement and preventative maintenance work on all production equipment.
Effective supervision of subcontractor activities as the need arises.
Identification of continuous improvement of plant, equipment and systems.
Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
Support with Planned Maintenance activities during the production Shut down periods.
Build and update maintenance and equipment procedures.
Maintain and coordinate all asset documentation.
What we look for
Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Full exposure to maintenance, repairs, breakdowns
Driven, confident and have a CAN DO attitude.
Experience of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems e.g. Shire / Maximo)
AutoCAD would be helpful but not crucial.
Fully apprenticeship trained with a minimum of 3 years of job experience.
Fully IT literate
Problem-solving approach. Working with your own initiative is a must.

Understanding of automated process equipment (PLC controls) for simple troubleshooting is required.
Understanding and experience with pneumatics’ and vacuum systems.
Understanding of process equipment (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, mixing vessels)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Expected to be able to present own work to peers and cross-functional managers and influence leadership decisions. Technical writing skills required.
Must have a customer service mindset. Ability to manage competing priorities is critical.
Must be able use his/her technical background to investigate issues using a structured problem-solving approach to determine true root cause and develop effective corrective and preventative actions. Must be able to find true root cause and path forward for complex problems.
