More detail about the role: The post-holder will be supported to develop into a role where they are responsible for providing specialist clinical expertise to the Wheelchair and Specialist Seating service based at Exeter Mobility Centre (EMC). The wheelchair service has the unique role of treating both adults and children with a wide variety of medical conditions. Covering patients with acute and long-term conditions. You will see adults and paediatrics within the Centre in Exeter and at other locations as necessary e.g. satellite clinics, schools, secure units etc across Devon and Torbay. The post-holder will assess and treat patients with complex postural conditions to provide an appropriate means of mobility and use clinical reasoning to formulate individualised plans. They will triage referrals and ensure caseloads are managed within the contractual timeframes and within budget. Service criteria and the formulary of equipment must be adhered to. The CYP with Autism Spectrum Disorder or a Learning Disability Postgraduate Diploma programme involves both academic learning, coursework and supervised clinical practice. Alongside this, the post holder will work with colleagues in a specialist CFHD pathway, building relationships and wider skills in working children and young people with emotional and mental health needs in the community. The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RD&E hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 12 beds.
