About the Role

The Endpoint Engineering team assists companies by supporting their environments day to day and recommending best practises to follow and implement. The team designs, builds, supports, and continuously improves end user solutions end to end, enabling our customers to transform their business and modernise their end user experience. You will problem-solve technical issues for customers to show how these products can make businesses more productive, collaborative, and innovative. As a SOE Engineer you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Customers endpoint systems with minimal direction and engage in project work when they arise. You will have a key focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience to Datacom’s endpoint customer base.

What you will do

As a SOE Engineer, you will be responsible, but not limited to:

• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM and Intune
• Strong technical knowledge of Active Directory – Group Policy Management
• Strong technical knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VBScript, Batch)
• Experience with Windows 10 task sequencing and end point configuration
• Experience with facilitating large and enterprise scale software deployments
• Maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of environment wide configurations including user policies, device policies, security policies, firmware, drivers, and automation scripts through enterprise grade endpoint management platforms (Intune/SCCM)

What you will bring

You will have 5 years’ IT industry experience, preferably within an IT managed service provider, with approximately 3 years’ experience in a similar SOE Engineer role. You will possess exceptional knowledge of Windows 10, 11. Along with good working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP, AD, DHP, DNS, certificate services and Enterprise applications. You will have exceptional skills in endpoint management platforms, System Centre Configuration Manager, Intune, and Virtual Desktops). You will bring exceptional troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and prioritisation skills; and will be comfortable and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision. • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in SOE migrations, projects, and implementation

About the role

The Systems Engineer role is responsible for supporting Datacom's technical infrastructure including corporate hardware and software as well as providing corporate systems for the Datacom Business. The Systems Engineer primarily performs support activities in our corporate Production Environment, including responsibility for infrastructure changes following formal change control process. About the Role (Your Why)  

Datacom operations are seeking an Operations Centre Engineer whose role is to monitor systems including Windows, UNIX, Database, Cloud and backups in real-time on a 24x7x365 rotational basis and able to troubleshoot/triage/resolve events or escalating to specialist’s teams for resolution. You will receive a standby allowance for when offshift and when called in to cover, all hours are considered overtime. There is a shift allowance of 12.5% on all working hours too so that standard pay is as uniform as possible, regardless of if you are day or night shift.

It is essentially just above an entry-level role, so don't let the title scare you off! We do still need people with IT experience - the role is perfect for those who have done service desk or desktop engineering work - but note that this is still an associate level position. It is seen as a transitionary role and a great stepping stone to get into higher level IT roles, as has happened with many of our staff since the teams' inception 4 years ago. After working in this role, you should be able to handle the business critical tasks and changes while you have time to focus on any certifications you are interested in. You can really showcase your skills ihere and be involved with the technologies that you want to be involved with, initially at a lower level but you can steadily increase your utilisation of other, higher technologies as you grow and develop.

Working as a Desktop Support Engineer you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of End User Services to Datacom’s customers.
