Systems Tooling and Process Officer will play a pivotal role in enabling the NHS to become increasingly data-driven over the next decade. This position involves overseeing the use of key tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and leading the coordination of training and development activities within the programme.
• Hybrid role with flexibility for home working, alongside monthly visits to the NHS office at its new location.
• Band 7, ranging from £46,148 to £52,809, dependent on experience.
• Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week).
• Oversee the use of Jira and Confluence to ensure consistency and standardisation across NHS programmes.
• Develop and maintain SharePoint sites and SOPs for tooling processes.
• Act as the main point of contact for programme tooling and systems, providing expert advice and addressing queries.
• Coordinate training and development activities across teams, ensuring the effective use of systems and tools.
• Contribute to strategic planning for team projects, supporting performance improvement and governance strategies
You will be part of NHS England’s Data and Analytics Directorate, which is leading the transformation to improve data use across health and care. The Federated Data Platform connects systems across Trusts and Integrated Care Boards, enhancing data integration and improving patient care. By helping standardise data processes, you will contribute to better decision-making, improved care coordination, and a more efficient NHS.
The Tooling and Process Officer will:
• Manage the use of Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint within the programme, ensuring processes are efficient and standardised.
• Develop SOPs for the use of programme tooling and oversee the documentation process.
• Provide expert guidance to users of tooling and systems, resolving queries and improving overall functionality.
• Lead the coordination of training initiatives to ensure all staff are proficient in the use of programme tools.
• Contribute to performance improvement by supporting the strategic planning of projects and governance initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• Extensive experience using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and MS Project across various programmes.
• Strong track record of developing formal SOPs and delivering training on programme tools.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, including PRINCE2.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Experience:
• Experience working in a healthcare environment, ideally within the NHS.
• Familiarity with product development environments and system integration.
Qualifications:
• Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or with equivalent experience.
• Postgraduate degree or relevant project management certifications are desirable.
