Responsibilities:
- Act as a lead team member providing advice on constructability and buildability.
- Review and assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers & subcontractors. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and manage any disputes or claims that may arise.
- Draft Construction Strategy including Sequencing, Scheduling and Prioritisation
- Review and challenge project budgets and forecast to ensure a consistent and deliverable approach is adopted.
- Identify areas for process improvement innovation and cost savings.
- Drafting construction management plan, construction phase plan
- Provide input into Pre-Construction
- Advice on Constructability at Optioneering meetings/ design reviews
- Undertake Constructability reviews during Design phase
- Approach to ECI and Contractor involvement selection
- Identify long lead items procurement
- Ensure the Contractor’s construction methods, procedures and practices are properly complied with in all respects, particularly those relating to quality assurance, safety, personnel and industrial relations.
- Liaise as necessary on matters of quality, progress and safety with the Client’s and Contractor’s representatives
- Responsible for the delivery of projects under her/his control. Serve as the main point of contact throughout the project.
- Responsible for all safety, health, environment and quality matters ensuring adherence to statutory and legal requirements and Company procedures.
- Provide the Technical Pre-Sales team where necessary, with support on tenders regarding programme, technical matters and local supply chain, as well as post tender and pre-award support.
- An excellent communicator you can influence and facilitate change and enhance performance within a cross functional environment.
- With extensive project and program management principals, methods and techniques you will, define success criteria and disseminate these to all relevant parties throughout the various contract’s lifecycles.
- Actively drive and promote excellence, best practice and continuous improvement initiatives. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practice in materials processing solutions.
- Contributing as a member of the Senior Management Team to the development, communication and implementation of the Company’s operational objectives in line with the Company’s strategy.
Requirements:
- At least 10 - 15 years in construction management/ project management.
- Substantial experience of managing large construction projects and construction management teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of construction management methodologies
- Experience in Data Centre build industry will be an advantage.
- Proven track record in complex project delivery similar technical sectors.
- Working knowledge of construction management software and tools
- Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets, value engineering and optimizing cost reduction
- Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills
- Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.
- Incumbents must be self-starters, confident and composed.
- Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical delivery for client satisfaction.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation.
- Experienced client relationship manager.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively.
