The key duties and responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Establishes networking environment, designing, and deploying network solutions using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to Cisco, Dell, and Huawei.
- Performing system configuration; system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Implement, operate, and maintain various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers)
- Perform project and operational requirements as necessary to support SIMBA’s IP RAN networks.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Liaising with internal/external partner to ensure daily operation and site implementation are smoothly executed.
- Attending site inspection and acceptance (UAT)
- Working with other teams in the business to bring the best of each discipline to the business.
- Assist the manager in preparing and updating IMDA code of practice and policies.
- Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
- This position will report to CTO
The candidate should possess the below qualities to fulfil the needs of the role:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a networking environment with experience in a design role is required; Experience in Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning.
- Experience with manual 100GHz DWDM Grid channel allocation spaces for design, build and support is highly desirable.
- Experience in service provider network design and operation is essential, experience in enterprise network is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
- Essential skills in network routing protocols, including ISIS, OSPF, eBGP/iBGP, FRR, BFD, LDP, RSVP, L2/ L3VPN, QoS, MPLS.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (Enterprise Network or Service Provider) or other relevant certification will be highly regarded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff, customer, and vendors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with responsible and responsive character as well as reliability.
