The role of Client Services Manager/Mortgage Broking Assistant is a dynamic blend of customer service and loan processing. The Finance Manager Australia will report to the Director of Finance in North America. This successful Finance Manager Australia will coordinate and manage period-end close, budgeting and forecasting, statutory audits, and integrations of new businesses and ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis for a portfolio of acquired companies, as well as lead projects impacting their accounting and provide guidance on the more complex accounting issues. The current portfolio is 8 Australian software companies with annualized revenues of circa 40MM-USD.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

• Drive the financial planning of Australian companies by analyzing the performance and risks of the assets
• Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (Accounting, FP&A, AR, AP)
• Working closely with the Managing Directors to understand their business and needs
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Build and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and track KPIs
• Monitor and analyze the performance strategies to identify areas of opportunity respond with action plans to ensure execution to meet and exceed financial targets
• Monitor the financial health of the portfolio and ensure positive cash flow
• Lead and organize the annual statutory audits and ensure all fillings are completed
• Develop strategies to increase return on investment and profitability
• Oversee and review accounting tasks, including tax and compliance
• Ensure effective financial internal controls and continually evaluate established policies and procedures
• Collaborate with the integration team of newly acquired companies by producing opening balances, complete financials, and onboarding on Valsoft finance procedures
• Maintain high-level interaction with the corporate finance department
• Actively participate in the processes related to the sale or acquisition of companies
• Manage a local Finance team

About You:

• A qualified Financial Accountant with at least a bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar is essential
• 8+ years of experience in a similar role, including at least 3+ years in team management, is essential
• Ability to manage risks by ensuring that effective and efficient internal controls are in place without compromising operational efficiency and flexibility
• Extensive knowledge and skill in multiple disciplines to be able to integrate them effectively and a capacity to understand and interpret conflicting goals and needs of diverse groups
• Fast learner and adaptable – time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite ERP (or similar) is considered an asset
• Ability to visualize efficient processes and implement them
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

• This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective business partnering capability that will provide Business Units with timely and appropriate support, financial information and analytical tools to manage performance of the Business Units. This position is the key contact for Business Units, especially for Sales and Marketing teams, and has the ability to influence decision making and assist with driving Business Units' performance. Role supports two key business units: Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) and Electrophysiology Heart Failure (EPHF) Divisions

Your key responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

• Finance business partner to Corporate Accounts Manager responsible for and Tenders. This will include preparing and participating in business reviews and planning cycles (LBE) reviews.

• Working closely with Commercial business to evaluate margin impact related to investment decisions, pricing and promotions, and business development opportunities to support the making of decisions.

• Ensuring pricing proposals are compliant with corporate pricing policy across the CRM & EPHF business and authorisation is properly documented.

• Update and monitor market status of products within the customer groups.  Understand the impact of market dynamics, share, and innovation on the forecast assumptions.

• Act as the single provider of relevant business unit data to the Finance Controllers for consolidation into FP&A reporting including Plan, LBE, and long-term innovation forecasts. 

• Prepare Corporate Account reports, ad hoc reporting and/or analysis as required by Corporate Accounts Manager.

• Manage and develop one direct report. 

• Oversee the rebate and Sales incentive process performed by direct report including:

• timely & accurate calculation and accrual of monthly rebates and payments are executed in accordance with approved Rebate agreements and properly authorized in accordance with corporate policy.

• Timely & accurate calculation of sales incentive and relevant accruals for the CRM/EPHF divisions in accordance with annual sales incentive plans.

• Sales territory alignment within SAP for Abbott Medical divisions.

• Defining and implementing best practice planning and control techniques in line with business needs.

• 5+ years of working experiences in multiple financial positions including financial reporting & analysis, and commercial business support with multinational companies.

This role will partner with the acquisition finance team and business, drive competitive and sustainable business growth through independent, objective and value-creating financial analytics.

Responsibilities include:

• Integrate the acquisition to comply with JCI accounting policies and procedures, including day-to-day finance processes, revenue recognition on project and services accounting, establishing the new financial delegation of authorities, segregation of duties, and reconciliations.

• Responsible for annual Plan and rolling forecast. Oversees the business planning and forecasting process for the area of responsibility and ensures delivery of accurate and timely forecasts.

• Establish and oversee processes and tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information. Ensure high quality of financial data and business information in line with defined standards and financial closing schedules.

• Partner with business to provide in-depth, accurate and timely analysis to support the decision making. Identify issues and advise management on action plans and operational strategies to resolve. • Assess business risk exposure and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance. • Ensure transparency in financial reporting and disclosures. Define and implement internal controls regarding financial and non-financial operations. Ensure compliance with corporate and country standards, regulations, and guidelines.

• Develop the finance integration plan with the business and other JCI functions.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance and / or Accounting.

• Recognized professional accountancy qualification (CA, CPA) is required.

• M&A experience.

• 8+ years’ experience in finance, accounting and auditing related areas with a focus on business analytics and solid accounting / financial experience.

• 5+ years of solid team management experience.

• Strong strategical-thinking skill, decisive and logical.

• Advanced Excel and data management skills are required.

• Knowledge of the Pronto ERP is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of OneStream (similar Hyperion/HFM) is highly desirable.

• Project management skill is desirable.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have a new opportunity within our Finance Operations team. As the Finance Business Partner you will have a pivotal role in providing insight to senior stakeholders around the financial efficiency of the Journey Beyond Group

This position focuses on ensuring that spending aligns with budgets and forecasts while actively engaging in the analysis of costs and cost allocations. The Corporate Business Partner collaborates closely with Corporate General Managers (GMs) to formulate accurate and timely forecasts, challenge and refine new business cases, provide visibility of whole-of-group SG&A pool, and take ownership of tracking and reporting on cost efficiency measures. This role demands a hands-on approach, strong analytical skills, and a keen understanding of financial principles and business operations.

This is a full-time permanent position, working in our Journey Beyond Head office in North Terrace as well as the opportunity to WFH (Friday).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Monitor, analyse, and manage costs within the corporate division in alignment with budgetary guidelines and forecasts.
• Conduct detailed analysis of spending patterns, cost drivers, and cost allocations, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains
• Collaborate with Corporate GMs to formulate accurate and insightful financial forecasts & budgets

You will also have strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights, experience in creating and evaluating business cases, assessing financial feasibility, and conducting sensitivity analyses.
