Purpose:
- Support Design Lead in design guidance to project team members in delivering the Front End Project Design up to and including Concept Select in accordance with business and project objectives and quality expectations.
- Accountable for design and construction oversight to ensure design intents are met, review progress and inputs to Consultant and Construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Design Lead in the following:
- Manage Project Documentation, from Initiation to Handover, meeting all milestones within the Project Programme to ensure that the project progresses in a timely manner
- Ensure value engineering workshops are carried out at the appropriate times to the project and that there is a ‘value culture’ developed within the design team
- Defines and control drawing standards and requirements from external to ensure compliance to GSK standards (e.g. Business Information Modelling, Computer Aided Design)
- Design input to the preparation and progression of project funding requests in accordance with the prevailing Project Investment Proposal (PIP) process.
- Prepare the Concept Select design package and report.
- Manage the preparation of detailed equipment lists for major plant items and ensures that it is done for all other items, e.g. piping and instrumentation components
- Manages the preparation of initial and ongoing estimates of the engineering hours, and costs, including materials, labor, design, and supervision
- Monitors engineering cost expenditure against estimates and reports cost position to the Project Manager on a regular basis
- Management of internal and external design and technical resources during the Front end stages
- Ensure clean room design, warehouse etc. and other associated regulatory requirements are in place in the overall design.
- Ensure overall GSK standards and required pharmaceutical requirements are integrated in the overall laboratory design.
- Collaborate design, project and construction alignment with muti-function stakeholders and project team to ensure clear communication on design process, intent, milestones and decision.
- Collaborate and manages design to ensure successful decanting construction process for brownfield project.
- Managing procurement packages for project executions.
- Assist in overall coordination with design team, project team, construction management and internal user team to ensure successful completion and handover of the project. This will include initiating and executing internal GSK procedures for overall site execution works as required.
- Managing and involved in site permit during construction works executions.
- Managing execution of IOQ and coordinate with Quality Representative, Construction Manager, and Contractor Representatives and involved in associated records and sign-off.
- Familiarity to local building codes is a must and pharmaceutical requirements will be a plus point.
2. Supports the Project Manager in scope development activities and to support Project Management Framework (PMF) requirements
3. Coordinating overall design input to contractors and vendors.
4. Coordinating design input to Constructability, Commissioning & Qualification and Validation.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- 5-10 years’ experience on Architectural, civil & structure related project within biopharma industry and personally involved in several multi-disciplines’ coordination works for both Green field and Brown field projects from scratch to completion.
- Must know how to drive project teams across different departments
- Good knowledge in GMP requirement
- Knowledgeable in permit application, design requirement for QC Lab/process development lab
- Independent worker, proactive and have trouble shooting skills
