Job Description:
Parsons has a position for a REVIT Fire Protection System Designer to join the Fire Protection Engineering Division of Parsons Federal Solutions in support of various Government projects. Parsons Federal Engineering provides a broad array of engineering design services for US Government customers, including Fire and Life Safety Engineering and Fire Protection System Design. US Citizenship is required: The Candidate must have the ability to obtain US Government security clearances.
Required:
- Minimum of 4 years of REVIT MEP design experience preferably in Fire Protection System design.
- Must be able to complete design projects start to finish, while working independently
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Program experience with, and working knowledge of, REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Suite.
- Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards including NFPA 70 and NFPA 72.
- Perform voltage drop and battery capacity calculations; prepare calculations manually and by using software.
- Prepare logical sequence of operations (I/O Matrix).
- Prepare stock listing, product data sheets, and installation requirements
- Prepare design documents including layout of fire alarm and special hazards fire protection systems.
- Prepare shop and as-built drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comply with all safety policies
- Visit construction sites or frequent travel with overnight stay.
- Must be able to obtain Governmental clearances.
- Ability to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebra.
- Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365 (Office).
- Comply with all National and Parsons safety policies.
- Visit construction sites with frequent travel and overnight stay.
- Ability to complete site surveys and identify code issues and find solutions.
- Work in a professional office environment and routinely use standard office equipment. Qualified candidates will receive consideration to work remotely.
Preferred:
- Field experience.
- NICET Level II or higher Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- High School, GED, or College Degree.

Salary Range:
$59,300.00 - $103,800.00
