Reports to: Vice President, Global Product Delivery
Structure: Reporting directly to the Vice President, Global Product Delivery. In this role, the Director of Industrial Engineering and Facility will be responsible to lead the Industrial Engineering organisation for ASM (Asia and US) and the Facility team in Singapore plant.
The role requires strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in industrial engineering and facility management in semiconductor industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement optimal layout and facility plans, drives efficiency improvement projects to achieve operational excellence with Asia manufacturing leaders and achieve business objectives.
- Manage and develop a team of industrial engineers and facility engineers. Oversees contractors on-site on their deliverables and quality standards.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for teams and extended teams(contractors) to measure operational performance and progress to support business’s growth.
- Apply industrial engineering principles to optimize workflows, layout of existing and new manufacturing cleanrooms and Labs in Asia and US. Work closely with Manufacturing/ BU Engineering leaderships to ensure targets are met with most efficient cost and timeline.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and deploy technologies to achieve desired outcome and in compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and company policies
- Assess and set up a structure for systemic approach, including facility variable control, documentations, to support daily and longer-term growth plans and changes.
- Supports new product manufacturing by meeting the facility and capacity requirements from pilot stage to volume ramp.
- Work with cross-functional team and drive operational excellence, ensuring project completion and ROI achievements.
- Communicate progress, results, and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee building and cleanroom maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- To ensure EHS(environmental, health and safety) compliance, implement and enforce EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
- To plan, execute, and manage facility-related capital projects, including budgeting and scheduling.
- To develop and manage facility-related annual budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations, including reviewing cost and scope of work of external contractors to align with strategic roadmap.
- Drive initiatives to improve facility operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Contribute towards Sustainability initiatives by maintaining facility in the most efficient manner in energy efficiency, utilize renewable energy and waste reduction. Lead sustainability projects with Corp EHS guidance to ensure ASM is on track to meet Net Zero by 2035.
Requirements
- Minimum a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Industrial engineering or related field.
- Strong Facility management knowledge and communication skills
- LEAN and Six Sigma knowledge/ certification
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experiences within semiconductor industry.
- Proven experience in managing both direct and indirect / matrix reporting teams.
- Ability to travel
