The Technician assists the Director of Engineering, Asst. Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Chief/Senior Maintenance Officer & Maintenance Officer with the day-to-day operations of Engineering, in line with Conrad standards, brand pillars and prescribed Hilton policies and procedures.
What will I be doing?
As the Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Ensure all mechanical and electrical including all piping and fittings throughout the hotel are working satisfactory. Fabricate, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical system, structure and equipment inclusive sanitary, plumbing, waste and choke manhole etc.
- Repair and maintain all mechanical equipment, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, heat recovery, fresh air supply and exhaust air fans, rubbish bin, trolleys, wheels, all mechanical fittings,etc.
- Install or repair meters, starters, switchgears, fitting, wiring, vacuum machines, cables and all electrical, gas and fuel operated machine throughout the hotel.
- Inspect and replaced all fused lamps inside and outside the hotel including grounds, gardens and swimming pool light.
- Report and maintain television sets, antenna, signal booster and amplifiers.
- Observe and report any equipment, switchgears or wiring which are not functioning properly and rectify them.
- Check and conduct weekly test run generator set and also battery water level, engine oil, indicator water etc.
- To maintain daily log sheets for reading of temperature and pressures of electrical, air-conditioning system, water supply and heat recovery system.
- Check and repair defective flushing system, toilet bowls, urinals, basins and ventilation pipes.
- Check and repair all valves for hot and cold water and chilled water system.
- Check all water pumps systems, heat recovery, flush tanks, water tank heater and swimming pool, inclusive of all valves for hot and cold water systems and chilled water systems.
- Do cement and tiling work for all walls, car parks, beams, pillars and post, floor tiles, vinyl tiles, long bath and basin grouting, pipe and service riser and staircases.
- Construct edges, kerbs and pelmets.
- Weld coppers, galvanized and steam pipes.
- Install and repair washbasins, long bath, toilet bowls and urinals.
- Check, repair and replace washers, gaskets for taps and valves.
- Carry out all work in connection to plumbing and masonry.
- Perform duties as per safety and fire operation drill when and there the need arise.
- Respond promptly and positively to all guest requests, even if it does not directly concerned the department or job.
- Carry out shift/split shift or when called upon to perform odd duties whenever a person of the same category/trade fall sick/on vacation/in-camp training or absent from duties or as called upon to do so from time to time as required or directed by supervisors.
- Coordinate and report to Maintenance Officers, on job assignment and inform them of movement to enable easy and quick locate in case of emergency.
- Assist in keeping workshop areas, plant room and other equipment rooms clean at all times.
- Any other job assignments as and when required by his superiors.
- Participate in the annual fire evacuation drill exercise / building inspection conducted by FSSB.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
