Our client are a market leader in the manufacture, design, and qualification of composite and PU material solutions for the defence, aerospace, health, rail and automotive sectors. They are seeking a manufacturing engineer to join their growing team at their Gloucester manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities – Manufacturing Engineer
• Root Cause Analysis: Take the lead in technical troubleshooting to get to the root cause of material issues. Drive measurable solutions and improvements that make a positive impact on our production quality.
• Processes: Dive into process characterisation using tools like PFMEA to identify potential risks and optimize reliability. Ensure our processes are both stable and predictable.
• Performance Analyst: Keep a finger on the pulse of our operations by analysing trends and spotting anomalies. Provide insights and actionable reports, driving smarter decisions and enhance performance.
• Process Optimisation Expert: Spearhead the development and fine-tuning of manufacturing processes, including impregnation, pressing, and blown film lines. Drive positive change on efficiency and quality.
• Innovation: Keep us ahead of the curve by staying in tune with the latest industry trends and technological advancements. Use this knowledge to champion innovation and sharpen our competitive edge.
• Design Integration Partner: Work hand-in-hand with R&D and design teams, ensuring new products transition smoothly into manufacturing. Bridge the gap between design and production with expertise and finesse.
• CI: Oversee the seamless set-up of specifications, procedures, and instructions needed for the successful manufacture of new grades. Ensure we’re ready to hit the ground running with every new product launch.
Qualifications & Experience – Manufacturing Engineer
• Minimum of an HNC in relevant science or engineering field.
• Previous experience in technical manufacturing engineering roles desirable but not essential.
• Proactive approach: Demonstrate a proactive manner with the ability to prioritise and support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Problem-solving prowess: Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
• Adaptability: Comfortable working in a growing manufacturing environment, with a flexible approach to shifting demands and processes.
• Detail-oriented: Show a keen focus on detail, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Communication skills: Display effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead technical projects. Fluent in writing clear and concise technical documentation.
