Working at BlackBerry’s headquarters in Waterloo, ON, the Senior Accounting Analyst will join a team of dynamic and experienced accounting professionals to develop and implement accounting policies and procedure. You will be responsible to provide timely and accurate financial information to the management team, prepare monthly financial package, perform monthly account reconciliations and various other month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Fixed Asset Records, including but not limited to, depreciation, schedules and reconcile FAM to GL ledger.
- Review and reconcile local book fixed asset ledgers maintained by service providers to FAM on a quarterly basis.
- Prepare and maintain prepaid assets schedules.
- Prepare and analyze Balance Sheet Account reconciliation, including prepaids, and intercompany.
- Support quarterly/yearly closes and prepare management reports.
- Provide support gathering evidence for external Audit testing for various regions (Asia Pac, EMEA and NA).
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
- Coordinate/complete mandatory business survey questionaries' from various government agencies (i.e. Statistics Canada, US Census Bureau).
- Recommends accounting process improvements for efficiency, as necessary.
- Assist with ad hoc inquires and requests.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Canadian or US CPA designation, with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Require a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting.
- Knowledge of NetSuite ERP System.
- Advance Excel skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting field.
- CPA preferred, although not required.
- Excellent in organizing, planning and time management skills and able to multi-task.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Able to work extended hours through critical periods to meet deadlines (i.e. quarter-ends).
