About the Office for Space Technology & Industry
The Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn) is Singapore’s national space office. To build up Singapore’s space ecosystem and advance Singapore’s space interests, OSTIn seeks to:
• Nurture the build-up of local space technology capabilities through investments in R&D;
• Grow a globally competitive local space industry;
• Develop policies and regulations to support Singapore’s space activities;
• Expand bilateral and multilateral partnerships, and contribute to strengthening the international governance regime for space activities; and
• Support the development of talent for Singapore’s space sector and future workforce.
You will be part of OSTIn’s technology and program team which drives the development of space technology by investing in R&D leading to impactful space-enabled applications.
[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Building sound understanding of outer space technology, industry and policy trends, and identifying opportunities to advance Singapore’s space interests, especially within your technology specialisation
• Planning of end-to-end administration of research grants which includes the management of grant call processes
• Responsible for justification and seeking approval for programs/projects
• Cultivating strategic relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders in the government, research and industry ecosystem, and fostering collaborations and co-creating game-changing space programs/projects
• Play a key role in efforts in technology development budget ask for RIE funding
• Support Industry Development, Strategy, Policy, Regulations and International Relations and Talent & Workforce Development functions within OSTIn
• Assisting the Deputy Director (Technology Plans) to perform R&D masterplanning efforts, based on a strong understanding of national strategic needs, global trends and developments and of our local space ecosystem
[What we are looking for]
Desired Profile
• A strong interest and passion in outer space developments and space research and technology
• Preferably has proven track record of managing technology projects with successful outcomes
• Background in relevant disciplines such as engineering and science, and/or technology-related fields. Ability to analyse in-depth different complex issues and put forth actionable solutions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken; including ability and experience in engaging stakeholders
• Self-motivated and positive attitude, have excellent work ethic and a team player
• Willing to work in a matrix structure
