Leading the Global Material Category Managers & Global Material Category Development Managers, supported by GSO Operational team in the EU and Asia, the Global Material Sourcing Manager is accountable for textile/trims/others supply base. You are to ensure sourcing strategies are being developed, which can meet the business needs from key stakeholders. You are also expected to run cost saving initiatives projects that will enable price development target by ECCO & GSPS management to be achieved.
The Global Material Sourcing Manager will spearhead the annual review of the Preferred Supplier List. You will also ensure smooth flow in communication between Global Material Category Managers & Global Material Category Development to ensure right suppliers are selected for new projects to be used in bulk order production.
Responsibilities
Material Category Management
- Reinforce / extend the usage of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in supplier management / supplier selection and supplier development
- Lead and form strong relationship and build trust with Cross Functional Teams to understand business needs
- Support and identify new areas of business needs, process improvement, proposal and projects by collaborating with cross functional teams
Supplier Management / Development
- Ensure strategic supplier relationships are developed at Executive Level for Preferred suppliers through Business Reviews
- Support Global Supply Manager to ensure improvement from Poor Performing Suppliers
- Support Global Category Manager to ensure supply continuity through close collaboration with Business Units/suppliers and resolve any escalated issues
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Ensure Development Managers provide effective and responsive support for Designers during Concept & NPI process
- Ensure Development Managers maintain close communication with suppliers on quality expectation and testing standards
Cost Management
- Lead and drive cost improvement opportunities
Others
- Participate in supplier related and process improvement projects
- Maintain conduct consistent with ECCO Values related policies at all times, as well as GSO Procurement procedures and accepted practices
Requirements
- Candidate should process at least a Masters/Degree in Business/Economics or Supply Chain Management (Sourcing/Procurement)
- Preferred: 8+ years of sourcing/procurement experience
- Direct experience in material category management
- Direct experience in negotiation
- Direct experience in leading cross functional teams
- Experience in Shoe Making industry a plus but not necessary
