- Serve as the desk control officer with the responsibility of directing and operating the security communications system network.
- Serve as the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) operator with the responsibility for the monitoring and the operational control of the Sensitive Arms IDS computers.
- Maintain both secure and open communication with mobile patrols and posts, controls and directs security force actions in routine and/or emergency situations.
- Initiate periodic patrol and post location and status check from security personnel.
- Conduct long and short-term investigations when solutions cannot be achieved during the course of a normal shift.
- Serve as the primary operator for the Intrusion Detection System consisting of two computer systems to monitor sensitive security buildings.
- Instruct personnel having less familiarity with work operations on a day-to-day basis in specific security procedures and techniques applicable to orders and instructions relating to work assignments.
- Exercise a thorough knowledge of all security orders, regulations and procedures applicable to all posts and patrols within the depot security operation.
