Principal Responsibilities

Role Overview

Markets & Securities Services provides industry-leading services to corporate and institutional clients worldwide, and is a significant part of the HBSC Global Banking & Markets division.

Account Management AO&M sits within the SSV platform, and this role has been created to further support the consistent application and on-going delivery of the “Next Generation” of account management to SSVs’ strategically important Asset Owners & Managers client base, across SSV products.

Working alongside Client Service Managers and the Client Executives, a primary purpose of the role will be to ensure that we deliver a service proposition that recognises and adapts to changing client requirements as automation and digitisation reduce reliance on operational interaction day to day, and clients seek to extract additional, long term value from their service providers.

The role will be critical to the satisfaction and sustainability of our client relationships by helping create and maintain a platform for growth within the AO&M sector and ensuring we deliver:

• An industry-recognised, best in class account management proposition
• A fully reference-able client base with limited/zero attrition

As well as overseeing and maintaining the highest levels of service as a core SSV relationship foundation, the role-holder will identify and deliver key differentiators to clients. This will include the utilisation of data and new technology, the multiple products and services that complement the SSV offering within the Group and leveraging SS’ extensive proprietary network - people and market influence.

To do so, the role-holder will be required to continually familiarise themselves with the services SSV offers today and the product roadmap for the future.

Additionally, the role-holder will effectively support Client Executives and Sales Directors on new and cross sale initiatives for strategic clients/prospects, as well as owning commercials and maximising profitability and incremental growth opportunities with tier two clients.

To achieve this, the role-holder will need to forge deep relationships with key stakeholders including from the following business partners:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Client retention – work in tandem with Client Executives / Management, Product management and Service Delivery to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and a reference-able client base
• Create and maintain detailed client plans that effectively map the organisational structure and key contact points in the assigned clients
• Ensure proactive management of issues across all products and jurisdictions by directing the resources in each service component or jurisdiction

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience of Securities Services, client management, business implementation/change, business development and/or senior operational leadership experience
• Client facing with excellent communication and presentation skills, including an ability to lead and manage meetings
• Track record in maintaining and retaining client relationships across securities services products with an ability to help execute departmental strategy
• Understanding of core commercial and contractual drivers and business performance
• Proven ability to adapt to the changing demands of the industry, clients and internal stakeholders
• Proven capacity to operate across a complex organisation collaboratively, whilst ensuring that the agreed client/HSBC agenda is effectively managed

The Audit Director is a senior level management position responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of Citi’s Internal Audit (IA) function. The overall objective of the Audit Director is to direct audit activities that support a subset of a product line, function, or legal entity at the global or regional level, in accordance with IA standards, Citi policies, and local regulations.

Master Data Management

1. Manages the design and execution of efficient daily master data processes; works with organizational stakeholders to establish Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to define acceptable timing for service delivery.
2. Designs, implements and enforces all applicable controls related to master data processes and master data standards.
3. Facilitates the finance data governance team.
4. Manages a team of master data analysts/specialists, providing training, feedback, and monitoring process discipline and performance against SLA’s.

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of personnel assigned to the Accounting Policy Section. Assigns projects and monitors progress of the projects, which have been assigned. Is responsible for coordinating the performance of a wide variety of projects assigned to the Section, which include complex bank supervisory matters involving accounting, auditing, taxation, and regulatory reporting.
• Identifies emerging accounting, auditing, regulatory reporting, and taxation issues. Develops critical and timely policy guidance addressing these issues for FDIC-supervised and -insured institutions and the Division's examination staff. Assists the Chief Accountant and Deputy Chief Accountant in developing Division policies that relate to these areas.
• Represents the Division in coordinating new and revised approaches to bank examination and bank supervisory procedures, practices, and methods as they pertain to accounting or regulatory reporting issues on interagency groups.
• Responds to inquiries related to accounting, auditing, regulatory reporting, taxation, and other examination matters from within the Corporation and from other supervisory agencies, depository institutions, accountants, auditors, and other interested parties.
• Develops or oversees the development of training programs for Washington and field staff. Develops training materials related to accounting, auditing, regulatory reporting, taxation, and similar issues for examiner training courses and for other conferences, seminars, and webinars attended by examiners, bankers, and/or other parties. Serves as an instructor or guest speaker at examiner training courses and at FDIC and public conferences and other meetings in areas of expertise.
• Plans, develops, and directs branch-wide programs that are vital to assuring the effective oversight of FDIC insured institutions. Policy and programs developed by the Accounting Policy Section directly impact supervisory operations and increases efficiency of the Division's operations. Accountable for the Section conduct and completion of complex bank supervisory matters involving accounting, auditing, taxation, and regulatory reporting.
• Reviews exposure drafts of proposed accounting, auditing, and professional ethics pronouncements issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the International Accounting Standards Board, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and other organizations; coordinates with the Chief Accountant and Deputy Chief Accountant in developing the Division's position of these proposals; and prepares or contributes to the Division's response to these documents. Defines new projects to meet Section needs and/ or in reaction to changes.
• Reviews and assesses the impact of new and/or proposed legislation, changes in depository institution regulations, technological developments, and similar matters, as they relate to the examination process and broader depository institution supervisory functions. Leads the facilitation and/or contributes as a subject matter expert in developing new legislative proposals and agency regulations.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management authority and performs the full range of performance management duties to include: planning, assigning, and reviewing work products of subordinates; establishing guidelines and performance expectations; and, evaluating work performance and providing feedback to others on their performance. Identifies training and developmental needs for staff and provides regular recognition of staff. Works in collaboration with the appropriate Human Resources and Legal staff to administer disciplinary action. Hears and resolves grievances or other disputes as appropriate. Approves/ disapproves requests for leave, telework, travel, training, etc.
