Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Operates and maintains a woodworking shop for patron use
- Maintains stock of wood, wood products, and other woodworking shop supplies to complete a variety of woodworking projects
- Prepares requests for supplies and equipment required for shop operation
- Develops curriculum for skills development woodworking classes
- Demonstrates proper techniques and methods used in building, refinishing and repairing wood projects
- Assists patrons in completing layouts and provides general guidelines
- Demonstrates and follows safety practices in operating machines and using tools and equipment, protective ear and eye devices, respirators and machine guards to protect against injury.
Physical Effort: Works in tiring positions for prolonged periods. Work requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, crouching and arm movement. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 pounds. May occasionally lift heavier items with assistance. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts and serious injuries.
