The Director’s primary purpose is to be externally focused to manage existing commercial real estate client relationships, drive new client acquisition and ensuring the objectives related to growth, core deposits, profitability, risk, and client service are met. Further, Director will be a primary contributor of team dynamics and strategy as outlined by Director’s manager.
The Director will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities.
- Minimum of 8+ years of related commercial real estate business experience, including prior client relationship management and credit underwriting.
- Primary responsibilities for this position will be that of strategic relationship strengthening resulting in new credit and non-credit business generation, execution of management’s growth strategy and ensuring the portfolio objectives are met.
- Responsible and accountable for new strategic relationship acquisition and resulting new business generation.
- Execute capital optimization strategies for profitable growth of deposits, loans, fees as well as selling bank products and services.
- Serve as client's primary CIBC resource as it relates to relationship, credit, and depository needs. Work closely with clients to understand the breadth of their financial needs.
- Identify product/service opportunities for other CIBC business units and participate in development of creative solutions to client needs, coordinates presentations, and brings in partners when appropriate.
- Active execution and communication of growth strategy to drive prospecting and relationship growth for Group. Participate in and help drive the execution of the Group’s strategy including direct calling and networking.
- Monitor the Group’s assets with the team by maintaining quality of portfolio by adhering to lending processes, credit policies and underwriting standards.
- Actively work with Manager to further advance Director’s own skills and career development.
- Manage the strategic prioritization of the pipeline to achieve Secondary Line of Business and LOB goals.
- Maintain and develop strong relationship with internal departments (i.e. Credit, Loan Services, Treasury Management, cross-sell partners)
- Collaborate with CIBC’s commercial real estate debt products and asset management teams to ensure that our client’s credit needs are sufficiently achieved within CIBC’s risk framework.
- Collaborate with CIBC’s treasury management team to ensure that our client’s depository needs are sufficiently achieved.
- Collaborate with CIBC’s loan syndications and interest rate management teams to ensure that our client’s risk management needs are sufficiently achieved.
- Resolve issues within Group should dispute on deal points arise.
Uphold active market presence within the community and industry associations with the purpose of promoting CIBC and cultivating potential prospects and referral sources.
